The programmes were recorded in 1985 in WuppertalViolet-marker.png and the nearby CologneViolet-marker.png. They are presented entirely in German aiming to promote comprehension for students preparing for level 2 graded exams. Each episode has a general theme of food, travel, leisure time, animals and shopping respectively.

Klaus und Uli

The last part of each episode is a dramatised comedy film about two boys called Klaus and Uli, where Klaus is the schoolboy met in the earlier Partner TV1 unit, trying to make a video.

Resources

Video Book

Booklet of notes on the programmes, one for teachers and another for pupils, were both branded as 'video books' and sold as a pack.

In the first year of transmission before the 'video books' were ready teachers could instead buy a temporary transcript of the programmes for £1.50.

Video

Just like the previous unit, Thames Television International released two separate VHS videos from Partner TV2 around 1986.

One contained the programmes themselves for £25, and the other contained the Klaus und Uli sequences for £35, both prices excluding VAT and according to an advert in the Times Educational Supplement of 31/10/1986, p.34.

Language course

The Longman/Thames Partner language course, conceived since the early 1980s, was finally published around 1988, meant to include separate pupils' and teachers' books, audio cassettes and worksheets.
