Scene: The American Scene 1968
The American Scene 1968 is a unit of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1960s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.
A two-part documentary about the 1968 American presidential election, looking at the parties and systems involved in American democracy and the problems facing the new president including the Vietnam War and Civil Rights movement. The election took place on 5th November, so the first episode was broadcast before the election and then the second episode was broadcast, after the half term break, immediately following the election.
