Romeo and Juliet is an ITV schools TV series from the 1970s, covering Drama for secondary school pupils.
- an 8-part production of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare starring Christopher Neame as Romeo and Ann Hasson as Juliet, using the uncut text of the New Penguin Shakespeare
- followed by 2 documentary programmes, one a discussion on the themes of the play and the other looking at theatre in Shakespeare's time
- the play was repeated in spring 1977 and then again as part of The English Programme in spring 1978 and spring 1979, but with the documentary programmes replaced by a two-part look at Shakespeare and his Theatre
Romeo and Juliet had previously been produced for schools in 1962 by Associated-Rediffusion, Thames's predecessor in the London region
