Religious Service for Schools is a BBC schools radio series from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, covering Collective Worship for secondary school pupils.
- From September 1942 the service was broadcast twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
- From September 1943 the first broadcast of each Service was on Fridays, with a re-broadcast on Tuesdays. The reason was that delays in delivering the Radio Times in some areas meant that teachers didn't find out which hymns would be covered in the Tuesday broadcast until too late. Although distribution of the Radio Times improved after the war, the pattern of broadcasting first at the end of the week and then repeating at the start of the next week continued until the early 1960s
In 1961 two religious services were broadcast for schools in England for the first time: A Religious Service for Primary Schools and An Act of Worship for secondary schools.
