It's Not Like This Where I Come From is an episode of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1970s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.

Three British schoolboys go on an expedition with the British Schools Exploring Society to he mountains in northern Norway and Sweden. They are studying geology, glaciology and map-making and learning to survive in the uninhabited mountains.

==From the teacher's notes==

"The purpose of this programme and of the following one is to stimulate pupils to think about the nature of adventure and the factors involved in physical and mental survival.

"This programme shows an organised expedition, for which boys are selected from a large number of volunteers keen to take up this kind of challenge. Although their ultimate survival is never really in doubt, they face, with the guidance of instructors, conditions and situations which are potentially dangerous."

"Not all of the experiences are useful and not all of the tests are passed successfully. One group is not well organised. They leave stores uncovered and rubbish unburied; their sugar is spoilt by rain, they leave the primus stoves behind, so have no hot food or drinks until the next day, when some set off down the mountain for more supplies." - Scene teacher's notes autumn 1975 p.19.
