The Vikings is a unit of the BBC Schools TV series Zig Zag from the 1980s, 1990s & 2000s, covering history for primary school pupils.

Paul Coia visits historic locations to discover how the Vikings came to Britain and what they did after they arrived.

These three documentary programmes are followed by a two-part Viking drama, The Saga of Gunnar Goldhair.

A programme for teachers about studying the Vikings, nicely named The Saga of Class 2's Project, was shown as part of Teaching Today to accompany the 1989 and 1991 repeats of the unit.
