The British Isles
The British Isles is an ITV schools TV series from the 1960s, covering geography for secondary school pupils.
- pairs of programmes covering different areas of the British Isles, one showing specially filmed footage of the area and the other a studio documentary
- the series was produced by Associated-Rediffusion, but four programmes about Scotland in the autumn term were produced by Scottish Television
- seven programmes selected from the whole series were repeated for adults, on Thursday nights at 11:05pm in February and March 1962 on Associated-Rediffusion
