Scene: Try Again
Try Again is an episode of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1970s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.
Richard and Valerie, both in their early twenties, both left school with hardly any qualifications, but found that they needed to take part-time further education courses to gain the qualifications they needed to start their careers. They describe what they did, and what further education meant to them.
==From the teacher's notes==
"The programme sets out to re-emphasise the value of education. Its aim is to encourage pupils to value whatever opportunities are offered at school, yet not to see them as their last chance: 'further education' is a possibility irrespective of a person's school record." - Scene teacher's notes spring 1978 p.12.
