Test Flight is an episode of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1990s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.

From the teacher's notes

"Test Flight was a National Film and Television school graduation film. It was directed by Trevelyan Evans who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Lloyd Evans. When they started writing they set out to cover the whole development of balloon flight in the eighteenth century. This huge subject was reduced to exploring the events around one particular episode - the first piloted test flight.

The events in the film are based on fact. (...) What takes place among the villagers in Test Flight is an invented story intended to show that the scientific age did not come about without a price being paid." - Scene teacher's notes spring 1996 p.28.
