I Want to Be Like You is an episode of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1970s and 1980s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.

Brian idolises his older brother Steve, who has left school and joined the army. The two brothers go for an evening out and end up in a local coffee shop, where Steve's faults become painfully obvious to Brian.

==From the teacher's notes==

"The purpose of the play is to encourage discussion on family relationships. It clearly offers possibilities for discussion on relationships between brothers and sisters, and the way growing up may alter these. In this family the mother is the only parent, so Brian's relationship with his elder brother also shows some similarities to that between a son and his father." - Scene teacher's notes autumn 1977 p.10.
