Real Maths
Real Maths is a BBC schools radio series from the 1980s, covering Mathematics for secondary school pupils.
A series intended to motivate GCSE students "with a low opinion of their own mathematical ability", through dramas, documentaries, games and puzzles.
The first and last episodes were teachers' programmes, and four of the others were "realistic" dramas covering topics such as budgeting on a Saturday job and probability in gambling. Episode seven was a quiz show.
The programmes were designed to be tape-recorded and had built-in points when the tape could be stopped for discussion and classroom investigation. The series was developed in association with the Southern Examining Group.
