Landmarks: Victorian Children
Victorian Children is a unit of the BBC Schools TV series Landmarks from the 1990s, covering history for primary school pupils.
Looking at the lives of children 100 years earlier in Victorian times.
Victorian Children was originally a unit of four programes in the series Now and Then in 1988, narrated by Libby Fawbert and produced by Nicholas Whines. It was repeated as part of Landmarks in 1990, and again in 1991 when a new, fifth episode was added in the form of a drama-documentary on The City Child. This was paired with the repeated 1988 episode on The Country Child and broadcast as the fourth in an expanded unit of five Landmarks programmes.
The new programme on The City Child was shown just once more, randomly in isolation from the rest of the unit in summer 1994, before Landmarks introduced a new, replacement unit on Victorian Britain in 1995 which included repeats of some of the original 1988 Now and Then programmes but not The City Child.
