Landmarks: Over to You
Over to You is an episode of the BBC Schools TV series Landmarks from the 1980s, covering topics for primary school pupils.
"Access to television" programmes in which viewing children have been able to make short TV films on a subject of interest to them, to share with other schools. The individual films include environmental and historical topics, plus school performances.
The complementary series for younger viewers, Zig Zag, included a series of Over to You programmes in 1985, encouraging creative work such as animation and then showing some of the results. Over to You programmes for the Landmarks age group had originated on the predecessor series Now and Then in 1987, and Near and Far in 1988. Both of those earlier Over to You programmes were repeated as part of Landmarks in 1993.
The final Landmarks Over to You programme in 1991 specifically accompanied the unit on Egypt with examples of schools' work on that topic. It was listed as part of the Egypt unit in the teacher's notes.
