Christopher Columbus: The Man Who Dared is a drama from the BBC Schools TV series Landmarks from the 1990s, covering history for Primary pupils.

In 1992 an American girl flies home from London. While waiting at the airport she encounters the ghost of Christopher Columbus, who tells her confidently about his voyages 500 years earlier.

The story of Columbus's attempts to organise his search for the east coast of Asia, then of the voyages themselves and his encounters with native people, is all told through a series of short scenes, linked by occasional questions from young Jodie and narration from Columbus himself who physically steps in to some of the scenes being enacted after speaking to the girl.

This drama was shown as part of the Landmarks unit Exploration and Encounters whih also included documentaries on 15th Century civilisation and European conquests.
