Ancient Egypt is a unit of the BBC Schools TV series Landmarks from the 1990s & 2000s, covering History for primary school pupils.

The presenters investigate a set of questions, referred to as Landmarks Challenges, set by a museum curator which help them to understand life in Ancient Egypt. Which food wore down the teeth of Ancient Egyptians, and why was a beetle buried with a mummy?

Jamie Theakston travels to Egypt while Marcelle Duprey works in the British Museum with access to the "Landmarks Databank" computer to work out the answers. At the end of each episode a character from Ancient Egypt comes to life to explain things.

Marcelle and Jamie

From 2003-04 the unit was advertised as part of Landmarks' replacement series Primary History, but the programmes were simply repeated without any changes, not even the addition of a Primary History title sequence.
