A Ring of Words is an ITV schools TV series from the 1960s, covering Language, Poetry and Writing for primary and secondary school pupils.
- programmes showing children how language is interesting and pleasurable
- the only run of this series that was known to the Independent Television Authority (covered in their annual report and with the teachers notes deposited in their education library) was the spring 1967 series covered here, however this was billed as the "third series" by Grampian Television, and the teacher's notes refer to schools having submitted children's work to the producers, presumably in response to a previous series
- Associated-Rediffusion produced an unrelated schools series called The Ring of Words in 1959
