A Sober and Industrious Life is an episode of the BBC schools TV series Scene from the 1970s, covering citizenship for secondary school pupils.
Documentary following 20-year-old 'John', who has spent most of his teenage years in detention and now seems determined to go straight. He describes the treatment he receives, while other, younger boys give their views on offending and the possible punishments.
