The story was adapted by John Emlyn Edwards, and music from Tschaikovksy's ballet based on the story was played for listening during the broadcasts, but was not part of Time and Tune's production for children.
Songs
All 7 songs from Sleeping Beauty, with an extract from each. Written by John Emlyn Edwards unless stated.
Sleeping Beauty
On the christening day of a child princess, most beautiful ever seen,
Came a party of guests to the palace feast, by order of King and Queen.
Lullaby
From Music Time, Oxford University Press.
Sleep, baby, sleep.
Your mother watch will keep.
Little Bird, Little Bird
Go through my window, my sugar lump,
Go through my window, my sugar lump,
And buy molasses candy.
Spinning Wheel Song
From Twelve Manx Folk Songs 1, Stainer & Bell Ltd.
With myself, the spinner,
And spinning the grey wool.
The Band
Oh we can play on the big bass drum,
And this is the music to it...
A Christmas Song
Winds through the olive trees softly did blow,
Round little Bethlehem long, long ago.
Hurry, Little Pony
From Children's Songs from Spain, Faber Music Ltd.
Hurry, hurry, hurry or we shan't be early,
Hurry, little pony on the way!
